Guidelines

Welcome to the Shootfighter World,

In this day and age where there are many trials and tribulations such as lack of fitness and inability to defend oneself, you have taken it upon yourself to finally do something about it and join us. For that we are grateful and hope to make you value every single class that you spend with us.

Our classes have variety as we practice Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) i.e. we bring a variety of martial arts under one roof. We teach a mixture of Kickboxing, Jujutsu, Wrestling, Aikido, Varma Kalai, Karate and many other arts to make our style completely effective in present day situations.

Being in our classes shows you many things; you can have fun while learning something serious. You are allowed to question any technique in class without being reprimanded and you will always have something to take back with you from every class; techniques, exercises, pain, bruises, the works.

The guidelines are simple and easy to follow

  • Leave your EGO at the door. You are here to train. You are here to learn. You are here to experience. There is no room for EGO
  • Please bring running shoes when you come to class because your instructor would love to take you out for a run, improving cardio-endurance as well as your parkour skills (also a nice change of scenery)
  • Please keep your nails trimmed so that you do not cut anybody with your nails while practicing a technique or while sparring/wrestling
  • Ensure that you respect your partner as he/she has to learn from the experience and so do you.
  • Respect the ‘tap out’ i.e. when you partner is in pain and taps out, you let him/her go
  • Please spray deodorant before you come to class, it does help suppress the sweat smell after an intense session of class (you do sweat a lot)
  • Please carry a bottle of water with you. It is always good to replenish the fluids you have lost during class
  • LISTEN carefully to your instructor as that will be the difference between having a safe class or getting injured
  • Remember that pain is weakness leaving the body so if you feel body aches during and after class it’s all good as now you know your body is only going to get stronger
  • Avoid missing a class, you never know you just might miss something very interesting in that class
  • Feel free to bring friends. We are all about meeting people and making them fit and able to defend themselves
  • If you do miss a class, try to catch a repeat class and work twice as hard

We are here for you to take advantage of. So make best use of us and learn how to feel fit, free and confident while having a lot of fun through Martial Arts-Shootfighters Style! AES!
