The long and short of neural circuits
Your brain is a complex bio-computer with neural circuits extending into every part of your body. If you were to become aware of all the information coming in from every part of your body you’d trip the consciousness circuit and enter into a different state of mind. Molecules of certain substances can do this, and while I know a lot about that subject this post is about the circuits and the impulses travelling from the brain.
IMPOTENCE
The organs of action are your limbs, tongue and sexual organs. So its really important to have conscious control over these and keep the unconscious signals also controlled. It’s obvious why you need to do that, who wants to be impotent? And I don’t mean just sexually.
While planning and knowing what to do next is important, it is imperative that these nerve impulses take the long journey to your limbs. Otherwise you won’t act, the impulses get short circuited. That means you think of doing something, like joining MMA classes and no limbs move, fingers don’t dial, tongue doesn’t speak and legs don’t walk towards the gym.
STRESS
Another problem of short circuiting besides impotence is stress, the impulse to move mobilises hormones that enhance action, these are chemicals that are harmful to the body if not expended in action, in other words if you don’t move after having the thought of moving you poison yourself.
So what’s the solution? Only entertain thoughts that are ‘long-circuits’. Thoughts that move you to action, other types of thoughts about action upon which you never act should be avoided like the plague.
If you think about doing something and you don’t feel it in your organs of action you are just poisoning yourself.
DESIRE
You desire something only when you have ‘missed the bus’ desire is a warning sign, If you acted as you had thought or avoided thinking of action when it was not necessary you would feel no desire. It is perfectly possible to get what you want without the want ever entering your consciousness. The body goes about wanting and fulfilling without conscious thought, it is only when the limbs didn’t act on an action impulse from the brain that you become conscious of the want and this is called desire. When you have desire try to galvanise yourself into action as you if you have missed the bus and need to run fast to catch it, if the desire is a bad idea (like having sex with your friends spouse) drop the action thought, therby dropping the desire completely. Anything inbetween these two extremes will lead to stress.
Remember if you become conscious of an action thought either ACT or DROP IT. But don’t gnash it around with the teeth of your brain trying to dissect it and somehow find ‘meaning’ for that thought.
FEAR
If fear becomes conscious you have failed to act unconsciously on the fear signals of your brain, this could be due to social conditioning or just ego. Now run away or fight or drop the fear or you will be poisoning yourself.
SKILLS
Practice dropping away thoughts often, until the brain can do it at will. Initially it will be hard but in a few weeks you will be able to drop desire and fear easily and go back to unconscious action. The second skill is to develop long circuits, every impulse of your brain should move your body, this is when you feel ‘alive’ I have given up drinking after I realised this, I don’t need a chemical to feel alive anymore. I didn’t have to work too hard either. I got here in two weeks. You can do it too.
But If you like your impotence and whining and complaining and illness (yes short circuiting messes up your health cos you create toxins faster than the body can excrete them) then don’t bother developing these skills.
If you learn martial arts, which is the path of action, you better skill up.
