Why is a technique good?

Before you accept a technique into your fighting vocabulary, run it  by these tests

1. does it expose your vulnerable parts? (groin, head, ribs, armpit, neck, back, eyes)

2. can you control strikes/ locks from the opponents free limbs?

3. can you move out easily if the technique fails?

4. do you have limbs free to tackle another attacker or two?

5. can you move to an ankle break finish and run away?

I teach techniques that I have put to the test. I suggest you analyse them likewise :) keep a hawk’s eye on your fighting and critically analyse each technique you use.

The best way to do this is to shoot a video of you fighting.

Bring it to my office for a free analysis!

Cheers,

Ash
