Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body
If you have been or are a part of the Shootfighters Kickboxing classes, then you must have heard this quote being said in class many a time
! I think a very apt quote for the martial arts that we are into.
Many a time you might think that the phrase is used only to make you smile or lessen the tension you might hold while doing an exercise but when you actually think about it when you feel pain you know your body is actually doing more work than it has done before.
Since it is not used to enduring so much initially, it shows up as pain but in a few days you notice you are able push yourself more to feel the same kind of pain. So when you feel pain you know that it’s just that your muscles are getting fatigued and when they get the time to recover, they become stronger and ready to take on more.
Next time you think , ‘Ahhh I’m feeling tired let me give up and not push myself anymore’ remember that you’re not pushing your body and mind and your muscles are not getting fatigued so that way they don’t make any changes and you wonder why you’re taking a longer time to get fitter and stronger! No pain, no gain
!
Pain after all IS weakness leaving the body. Make it your mantra so that next time onwards you’ll think of that when you decide to stop before the counts are done!
Good one Puttu!
the rule in my class is ‘faint or die but don’t quit’
